A ZOOKEEPER has saved a frisky ferret's life - by finding her a date
with a new male.
Edinburgh Zoo's Ross Poulter had to find a mate for his pet Two Socks
due to a little known medical condition.
Female ferrets, known as jills, get ill and can die if they do not mate
when they come into season.
Fellow zoo worker Kim Black mentioned she had a male, Gomez, at home.
The furry twosome hit it off straight away after they were introduced
yesterday.
Mr Poulter said: "Ferrets make great pets but if a jill is not mated
she can develop aplastic anaemia and die.
"I want to breed from Two Socks but finding Gomez may also have saved
her life."
