Woman and ferret assaulted, say police |

The Bracebridge Examiner A local man will need to answer in court after police charged
him with attacking a woman and a ferret.
According to Bracebridge OPP, last Thursday at approximately 6:15
p.m., police were called to a dispute in Bracebridge.
During the investigation into the complaint it was learned that
an altercation had taken place between the occupants of the residence,
during which a pet ferret had been injured, according to police.
As a result of the investigation Jason Courneyea, 24, of Bracebridge
was charged with assault, forcible confinement, mischief to property
valued at less than $5,000 and cruelty to an animal.
Police said the injuries to the ferret are not known, but are
not thought to be life-threatening.
