RESCUED ferrets in
Flintshire are being taken for daily walks and living life at the end
of a lead.
The furry friends from Capricorn
Animal Rescue, Padeswood in Flintshire enjoy daily exercise to satisfy
their active nature.
The latest addition to the four ferret family at the centre is young
adult Harvey, who was rescued two weeks ago.
He was found starved and neglected but is now making a good recovery
thanks to regular walks and lots of attention.
Two volunteers walk the ferrets for half an hour each day.
And, although the pets spend 14 to 18 hours a day sleeping, they are
most active during dawn and dusk.
Capricorn secretary Sheila Stewart, who helps look after 32 different
species of animals at the centre, said that ferrets are very curious
and need to be kept occupied.

"Ferrets cannot be cooped up in cages all day long, they are intelligent, active
and love to explore," she said.
"We have rehomed 22 ferrets over the last three months and encourage people to
take them in pairs because they like each other's company.
"When they are not out walking, they have their own adventure centre here and
are constantly playing and having fun."
