It's a Ferret Life

Windcrest has been named one of the best Veterinary Clinics in the state of Delaware...this is simply wrong.

After spending thousands on one of my beloved animals... they still had no explanation as to her condition... sent me home with antibiotics that were way overpriced, and did not work, now that I have a bit of knowledge when it comes to medications, I later learned they gave the wrong kind. Otomox, which actually made her chronic ear condition worse..I decided to do my own research, I found many simple home remedies to soothe her allergies. Quality kibble, salmon oil supplements, vinegar/water for her ears...simple! I find it very hard to believe that the best vet clinic in the state of Delaware couldn't figure this out. I therefore, do NOT recommend anyone go to this clinic, unless you have money to burn, and wish to risk a misdiagnosis of your beloved pet.

Another incident, my show female, fractured her upper canine, I wanted them to take a look at it but ONLY if they perform root canals, I was lied to on the phone.. showed up, and the vet tech looked at her tooth and basically said "yes it's fractured" They charged me $50 just to tell me something I already knew, but not before trying to shovel expensive medications my way, that were unnessary. I have heartguard, frontline, and clavamox.. yet they insisted I purchase from them... amazing. Some vets can be worse than a mechanic. If you decide to use Windcrest, please research, to find out what could be wrong with your dog or cat, what the vet may prescribe.. ask a lot of questions, because they will hand you a bill for over $1,000 with no problem. I personally, will never go there again. Ever.

They take advantage of your sadness and desperation and talk you into unecessary and overpriced tests and if you don't go along with their radical testing ideas, they make you feel awful like you don't care about your pet. I used to take my pets there and changed a couple years ago to White Clay Creek Animal Hospital. They are the best! They KNOW ferrets and you can tell they care for your pet. I take my dog, cats and ferrets there and refer everyone I know there. I also tell everyone to stay away from Windcrest.
