Hi there from WeezleWings Ferret Sanctuary (formerly known as WeazleWyld Ferret Shelter)!!! We are a privately run, non-501c3, shelter/hospice/forever home located in the beautiful area of East Texas. This sanctuary is listed with Support our Shelters (supportourshelters.org) and the American Ferret Association (ferret.org). The sanctuary has existed since 1998 to provide love, care, and protection for the domestic ferret. Weezlewings is at hand 24/7 to help new owners or longtime owners work out problems, answer questions and share knowledge. Monies gained from this fundraiser will go directly into the ferrets' veterinarians account, medication cabinet, supply cabinet and ongoing care of all rescue/hospice/surrendered ferrets.

Please let me introduce myself, I am Susie. I am the Shelter Mom! I am also a registered nurse.

I no longer re-home the fursnakes that come into my care. WeezleWings is more of a “forever home" than a temporary shelter. I do, however, liaison often between potential owners and other shelters and organizations.

I seem to have a special talent for anticipating a ferret's needs and wants, (I would swear they do more for me, actually, than I do for them!!) we are always teaching and learning from each other. If you have ever seen the look of pure gratitude in the face of any living creature, no place will you see it more in the eyes of a ferret taken out of an unpleasant situation and exchanged for a loving home and caregiver.

Awesome Place

What Debi is saying is not true at all. This place is Great! Susie is great! I have meet her when I had to take my 3 ferrets there. She does just like her website says. I thank god I found her and did not listen to what Debi said. I have seen several of the ferrets dropped off and she has healed them bad and saved their life. If you want to help animals this place is it. They need the help with different items that are listed on the website. Please help this is an awesome place.

Susie took 2 ferrets from my sister, they LEGALLY belong to my sister not Susie and they are NOT rescues. Now Susie has them posted on her website as HOSPICE/SANCTUARY kids that she is trying to get money with by way of asking people to sponser them. My grandbabies names are Diva & Horla!
It\'s FRAUD asking for money to sponser kids who are NOT rescues and were taken from their legal home and not surrendered.

Hi ! My name is Drew and i have been knowing Susie for some 13 years now. She has always loved animals of all sorts but ferrets are her true passion.Susie is very good with the ferrets and i have seen ferrets rescued from near death by her many times. She will always put the ferrets first and goes above and beyond with them.I\'m writing this, so that maybe animal lovers out there will help her out with the various expenses she incurs by taking care of soo many ferets.Right now she is in need of a washing machine to replace a broken one. If you can help in any way possible, she and the ferrets would be so ever grateful. Many thanks, Drew Mooney
