This has been one of the most popular pages on my site. Tons of hits from Google and other search engines, so it almost sad to see Rudy Giuliani's bid for the Presidency end. I will continue to leave it up until I see interest in the page wane.
Tom Kasner, It's a Ferret Life.
David Guthartz, executive president of New York Ferrets' Rights Advocacy, called Mayor Rudy Giuliani's radio call in show about the ban on pet ferrets in NYC. The Mayor leaned into the microphone on his desk and intoned, ''There is something deranged about you.'' As David Guthartz tried to talk, he was continually interupted, "David, you are on my show. I have the right to talk over you."
A diatribe against the ferret advocate ensued, with Mr. Giuliani saying things like, "The excessive concern you have for ferrets is something you should examine with a therapist" and "The excessive concern with little weasels is a sickness" and ''You should go consult a psychologist or a psychiatrist and have him help you with this excessive concern -- how you are devoting your life -- to weasels.''

If ferrets are outlawed, only outlaws will have ferrets!
In 2001 Eric Shefferman (Modern Ferret Magazine) went to New York for a hearing on legalizing ferrets. As you may know, the city council passed legislation to legalize ferrets, and this was vetoed by Mayor Giuliani. In Eric's words, "In any case, the information did not help as Mayor Giuliani had his heart set on vetoing the bill. He said that ferrets should be illegal in NYC for the same reasons that tigers are. He feels that both animals are dangerous to the public."
A great video animation I found on YouTube!

Mike Bloomberg has no interest in discussing ferrets. His staff block any calls from getting through on his radio show and he will not even entertain ending the illegal ban on ferrets in the city. He will be embarassed on Sept 15,2009 on WOR Radio on the Joey Reynolds Show which airs at 1 AM and can be heard live nation wide. I (The Ferretman) shall be bringing up ferrets in NYC as well as California. A challenge will be issued to the mayor and the governor to meet with me to discuss the end of the ban in both places. Also Governor David Paterson shall be challenged to meet with me as well to discuss having the State of New York recognize New York Ferret's Rights Advocacy/The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Ferrets as a quozzi state agency. There will be other topics brought up as well so if you have the chance listen in.

Rudy Giuliani has ISSUES. I think he is coming from a place of 'insecurity'.... and is 'compensating' with his 'kill to competition' nature.
Obviously.... this is Rudy Giuliani's dire attempt to Remain "TOP WEASEL"!!

I live in CT, sister state to NY. I did not hear of this matter, til tonite. Is he wacked out? What can a pet ferret do to him? Let's ban all the bad pet owners who abuse and neglect their animals. Who died and made him ruler of what pet a person can own? Scary man--and to think he's running for Pres. What other nutty things does he have in his resume?
