Reviews:
Most doctors here are not very knowledgeable and don\'t pay enough attention to what they\'re doing. Yet based on their prices you would think they should be the best of the best.
I took my ferret in for major intestinal problems that turned out to be life threatening. I explained all the important details to the doctor, including symptoms and that she interacted with another strange ferret a few days earlier. Well to make a long story short, they transferred my ferret to a different doctor each day. One of the doctors said she must have swallowed something that was causing an obstruction in the stomach. I asked if its possible that she caught a virus from the other ferret, and she said she didn\'t know she interacted with another ferret because she must not have read all the details of her chart. That is absolutely ridiculous that they care so little about their patients that they don\'t even take the time to read their charts!
After that I decided to do some research on my own. I found a virus that matched her symptoms to the T. I asked the doctor if she could have that virus, and she said most likely not, and acted offended that I would even question her opinion. She recommended we do surgery immediately to remove the obstruction. I didn\'t believe her because it was too big of a coincidence that she had just interacted with a strange ferret and is now sick, so I asked them to take an x-ray first. They took it and found there was nothing in the stomach, and determined it was the virus that I suspected. After it was over they told me it was a good thing they didn\'t do the surgery because the virus could have caused major complications (not to mention it would have cost and extra few hundred dollars).
Thankfully I questioned their \"expertise\" and, in doing so, may have saved my ferret\'s life. But the vet bill in the end was thousands of dollars (double the high end of their estimate).
I highly recommend you consider going to another vet or else you may not be so fortunate.
