Maryland Ferret Protection and Welfare Society, Inc. (a.k.a. MD Ferret PAWS, Inc. or PAWS) works to promote the domestic ferret as a companion animal and to educate the public about this wonderful pet. We want you and members of your community to have the chance to learn about proper environment, health standards, feeding and breeding practices for domestic ferrets. The ultimate goal of these efforts is to increase not only the quantity, but also the quality of life for ferrets in Maryland and across the United States. PAWS spreads the word about our little furry friends through literature that we make available to all interested individuals, pet stores, veterinary offices, breeders, shelters and the like. Also, we conduct workshops and display information at a variety of events around Maryland and the surrounding areas.
Whether you are an experienced ferret owner or are new to owning ferrets; if you are interested in the latest legislation in Maryland or in the newest ferret research; if you would like to become a member of MD Ferret PAWS, Inc. or need to know how to report unhealthy conditions at a pet store; whether you are interested in having us come and talk to a group in your community about ferrets or if you are interested in learning how you can become a presenter; our web site is for you!! The Board of Directors invites you to take a look and learn more about one of the best-kept secrets around - the domestic ferret.
