&quot;Ferrets may not respond as well to antibiotics, for example, as do dogs and cats.&quot; is just plain wrong. Ferrets are given, and respond just fine, to a wide variety of common antibiotics ... Amoxicillin, Clavamox, and Clindamycin are just three commonly used drugs. Flagyl and Tylan are also useful (usually in addition to another antibiotic) for gastrointestinal problems.

I do agree that our ferrets would do better with a natural diet. Care does need to be taken to feed sufficient raw bone, however, and telling people they can feed &quot;raw poultry and meats&quot; doesn't mention just how important it is to feed sufficient bone for calcium, phosphorus and other trace minerals. - Barb Carlson</description>
