It is really important that the owner would fed their ferret a proper diet. It is important because it helps ferret to become healthy. Eating a raw food could be a better one. - John Davies

I learned about the natural diet a little late, so only my two youngest hopped on the train. They eat mice regularly, and just from that little step you can see a difference in them! They are fluffier, bigger, and healthier looking!! - Moondoo

I agree...

My mother keeps free range chickens and periodically they die as you would expect....and an excess of roosters requires culling to prevent fighting. I feed chicks to my ferret whole and the larger roosters are quartered and frozen for a future time. She chooses the meat (fresh, defrosted or frozen!)over biscuits every time. It seems rediculous to assume that an essentially wild animal can be healthy on a purely man-made diet. Though I have to say that the sound of a ferret crunching up a chicken claw is a primal sound and one that I prefer not to sit listening to! - Jane

This is a great article. My ferrets have been eating raw food for a year. I've seen so many improvements since I started to feed them raw food. - Opal
